Features

Every booking in one place, wherever it came from

App, walk-in, phone, WhatsApp. Four ways a booking reaches you, one book they all land in — and one rule that stops any two of them landing on the same chair.

Walk-in · Mohamed Adel · 10:30

That slot was just taken. Pick another time.

The refusal the database produces, worded the way the product words it.

Four sources, one book

Every booking records where it came from, and keeps that colour for the rest of its life. At the end of a month you can see how much of your business the app actually brought you, rather than guessing.

Every way a booking arrives

  • App
  • Walk-in
  • Phone
  • WhatsApp

The database refuses the collision, not the app

Most systems check whether a slot is free and then save the booking. In the gap between those two steps, a second booking can slip in. Jaylak makes the database itself reject any overlap on the same barber, so the gap does not exist.

Walk-ins are not an afterthought

The man standing in front of you is the most common booking in an Egyptian barbershop, so he goes in the same book as everyone else — same rules, same colour coding, same protection against being double-booked.

Customers book themselves, at 1am if they like

The customer app shows only the times you are genuinely free, worked out from each barber’s hours minus everything already in the book. A booking made there is in your book before the customer puts the phone down.

What happens when two bookings race

  1. 1

Two requests arrive for the same chair at 10:30 — one from the customer app, one typed in by reception.

  2. 2

They reach the database in the same instant.

  3. 3

The database commits one and rejects the other. There is no moment where both are saved.

  4. 4

The one that lost gets a plain message: that slot was just taken, pick another time.

Can I take a booking over WhatsApp?

You record it. Someone messages you, you put it in the book and mark it as WhatsApp, and it is protected like any other booking. Jaylak does not read your WhatsApp or answer it for you.

Do you take deposits or card payments?

No. The customer app asks whether they intend to pay cash or by card and records the answer, and that is all it does — there is no payment processing in the product today. Money changes hands in the shop, the way it does now.

What happens when a booking is cancelled?

The slot frees immediately and the block leaves the book on every screen that is open. The cancellation is written to the activity log with who did it and when.

Does a phone booking work differently from an app booking?

Only in how it arrives. Every channel goes through the same single write path, which is why none of them can get around the no-overlap rule.
